Steps taken by the Government to conserve and develop indigenous breeds of cattle are as under:  i)  Nationwide Artificial Insemination (AI) programme: Nationwide AI programme has been launched on 11th September 2019 for implementation in 600 districts with less than 50% Artificial Insemination coverage covering 100 villages per district 200 animals per village.
